Just as playing a game is the natural result of learning the skills of a sport; recitals are a positive culmination of your child’s study with Dance Tree.  Students look forward to their appearance on stage and to the praise expressed by the audience.  NOTE:  It is assumed your child will participate in Recital because it teaches them early in life the pride that comes through completing a task.

*WHAT TO EXPECT AT DRESS REHEARSAL*

1.                  Bring your child dressed in their first (or only) costume with make-up applied.  (If your child is in a second number, your teacher will notify you as to which dance is first.)  DO NOT WEAR NAIL POLISH, JEWELRY (including rings) OR EXTRA HAIR ACCESSORIES.

2.                  Girls underpants should NOT show.(If tights are required, please consider NOT wearing underpants!)

3.                  Make-up should include: base, powder, blush, and blue eye shadow and red lipstick.  To look good on stage, make-up must be applied much heavier than street make-up.  Touch-ups will be done at make-up call.

4.                  Bring a cover-up since the auditorium is usually cool.  Please label all articles.  (Include a dance bag and quiet shoes if your child is in a tap dance.)

5.                  When you arrive at dress rehearsal, locate your child’s group in the auditorium (seats will be marked by song).

6.                  Stay with your child until the recital mom/mothers are designated.  Then please take your seat in the parents’ section of the auditorium.

7.                  Flash photos and video tripods are allowed during dress rehearsal only.

8.                  Your child may leave after their number(s) are rehearsed, and, after group and optional individual pictures are taken.

9.                  Remember…dress rehearsal is much longer than the performance!

        *PERFORMANCE*

****Arrive at make-up call on time in your first costume with stage make-up applied. Meet with your group and recital mother in the auditorium sign your child in.  The recital Mom will take the children to the dressing area and you will pick them up after the show.

                                                            *GUIDELINES

  1. Flash cameras, videos and cellular phones may be taken into dress rehearsal only. This distracts the dancers and others in the audience during the actual performance.

2.  Tripods are strictly forbidden due to fire codes.

      3.  Smoking is not permitted in the building. No food or drink in the auditorium

4.      For safety reasons your child must stay with their group until dismissed at the end of the performance and signed out.
